Why do we repair watches?
Watches are more than just tools to tell time. They are wearable memories. When a watch is passed down over generations, it holds the memories of your bond with the previous owner.
Over the years these watches may stop working, and they need to be repaired. This is what happened to me.
My grandpa's watch had stopped working and I spent a lot of time asking many workshops if they could repair it. I was met with many disappointments — until one workshop's horologist told me he could do it. I was overjoyed.
I sat by his side and watched as he repaired the watch and was totally captivated by the craft. Eventually, I became his apprentice, and now I have been running my own workshop, Vista Time, since 2016.
We find joy in repairing these watches, and seeing our customers' reactions when the memories of their loved ones return to them as the watch-hands begin moving again.
